This first week of Library2.Oakton is like starting out on a summer vacation without knowing exactly where we’re going but knowing that we’re going to have a good time.  Even though work on the new library website and proxy server will take most of my time, having a something new each week will make it seem like an adventure – the best part of a vacation.

Reading the other Library2.Oakton blogs by my colleagues reminds me of what always happens on vacation and that’s having time to see the world – ideally new parts of the world – from someone else’s perspective.  See something new in the familiar or something familiar in the new inspires me to stay open to surprises and to what is amazing in all of us individually and as a group.  Amazement is my one constant joy in life.

Here I am, finallly! Looks like the summer is going to fly by and throughout it I’ll be barely keeping up or just catching up to everyone else. I’m looking forward to all of the changes that we’re making here in the Oakton Library. I’m so glad to be starting out!
